Your own Nationwide LAN

In other words, you can have your own switched LAN even on a national or Nordic level, without detouring via unnecessary routers. And we are talking about speed in multiples of 100 or 1,000 Mbit/s!

The ability to work with different offices as if they were on a single LAN enables both cost savings and an entirely new way of working: share large files between different parts of the country as easily as within the same office, save money by centralizing your server maintenance, or why not place your backups in one of Sweden's most secure data centers while still accessing them at the same speed as if they were at the office?

The fact that the EthernetPort service is possible at all is due to the enormous capacity already installed in IP-Only's network. IP-Only does not need to be frugal with bandwidth by making you share it with other companies through an IP-VPN. You get your own entirely dedicated Ethernet channel!

IP-Only produces its Ethernet service directly on the transmission layer, without using any IP/layer 3 equipment. This reduces the amount of equipment, which in turn lowers costs, boosts reliability, and shortens response times.

A completely unique service

A unique characteristic of IP-Only's EthernetPort is that it is a completely transparent service, which means that you can use your existing VLAN over the connections that link different locations with no problem. This makes the service both simple and efficient, since there is no need to convert data for transportation through the network. Furthermore, every connection is its own private, logically discrete connection in IP-Only's network. Another unique advantage of IP-Only's EthernetPort is that more capacity is always available immediately when you need it. For example, if you lease a 100 Mbit/s connection delivered over a gigabit interface, for a variable fee you can always immediately use the entire port capacity up to 1 Gbit/s for a variable fee. This can be valuable for those occasional large file transfers, back-ups, or other peak traffic. Ethernet to a colocation hall or a central Internet line

EthernetPort can be combined for greater benefit with IP-Only's other services as an efficient solution package. For example, with its colocation service, IP-Only can offer a secure operating platform for your servers or communication equipment. Another obvious advantage is being able to use a central Internet line in the organization, for greater simplicity, security, and cost-effectiveness.

Local connections using fiber

To make use of IP-Only's service, a customer's place of business must be linked together with IP-Only's fiber network through a "local connection." The local connection is often delivered by IP-Only physically expanding its network to the customer but it can also be done through a local fiber-net provider. The local connection is delivered to a neutral point (ODF) on the premises. If you as a customer have even tougher requirements for reliability, IP-Only delivers double, physically separate local connections.

Support levels

Every part of IP-Only's network is monitored around the clock from IP-Only's Network Operations Center (NOC). IP-Only provides a high level of personal service and offers two different support levels for its services: Standard and Prio. The difference between the two levels is primarily that priority support guarantees higher availability, preference in troubleshooting, and access to around-the-clock support from IP-Only's NOC, which is available to Standard support customers only during regular office hours. IP-Only can also provide expanded support from Standard to Prio for brief periods.
