With IP-Only’s Internet connection, you have your own connection that is never oversubscribed but has guaranteed capacity direct to IP-Only’s backbone. From the start, IP-Only built its backbone to handle extremely heavy traffic flows, nationally and internationally. What makes the backbone exceptional is that it is built with several separate “layers.” One layer is for the heavy “through” traffic, and another is for local accesses. This means fewer router jumps and enables faster response times and higher bandwidth, because traffic is not slowed by smaller routers for local distribution. Combined with our well-developed traffic exchange with other operators, this gives IP-Only good control over the traffic routes and allows for services with guaranteed capacity and service levels.

Unique Flexibility and Performance

Constant access to extra bandwidth

A unique advantage of IP-Only’s Internet connection is that more capacity is always available immediately when you need it. For example, if you lease a 100 Mbit/s connection delivered over a gigabit Ethernet interface (GbE), you can always pay a variable fee and immediately use the entire port capacity up to 1 Gbit/s. This can be valuable for those occasional large file transfers, back-ups, or events that cause extra heavy traffic to your web or streaming server.

Operational monitoring and statistics

After the service is installed, the customer has access at no extra charge to the Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG) tool, making it possible to monitor traffic to and from the customer’s equipment in real time. Statistics show how much capacity is being used in the network over time. Networks and installations are monitored around the clock by IP-Only’s own Network Operations Center (NOC). When a warning or error message reaches NOC, evaluation and localization of the fault begins immediately. Customers are informed of problems in operations via e-mail or phone.

Well-developed traffic exchange

IP-Only has a well-developed traffic exchange with other operators, in several locations in the Nordic countries as well as in the critical hubs of London, Amsterdam, and New York, for example. This gives IP-Only good control over the traffic routes and also allows for international services with guaranteed capacity and service levels internationally.

Customer-specific services

IP-Only offers several solutions with different performance, from 10 Mbit/s, up to multiples of 1,000 Mbit/s. The monthly fee may be fixed or variable based on traffic. You can upgrade or change your connection to the Internet quickly and easily.

An Internet connection can be combined with IP-Only’s other services as an efficient solution package yielding more benefits. For example, with its colocation service IP-Only can offer a secure operating platform for your servers or communication equipment. Another obvious benefit is being able to use a central Internet connection for many different offices by using IP-Only’s office link EthernetPort, for greater simplicity, security, and costefficiency.

Local connections using fiber

To make use of IP-Only’s service, a customer’s place of business must be linked to IP-Only’s fiber network through a “local connection.” The local connection is often delivered by IP-Only physically expanding its network to the customer, but this can also be done through a local fiber-net provider. The local connection is delivered to a neutral point (ODF) on the premises. If you should have even tougher requirements for reliability, IP-Only can deliver double, physically separate local connections.

Support levels

Every part of IP-Only’s network is monitored around the clock from IP-Only’s Network Operations Center (NOC). IP-Only sets itself apart by providing a high level of personal service. For its various Internet services, IP-Only offers two different support levels: Standard and Prio. The difference between the two levels is primarily that priority support guarantees higher availability, preference in troubleshooting, and access to around-the-clock support from IP-Only’s NOC, something available only during regular office hours to standard support customers. IP-Only can also upgrade support from Standard to Prio for brief periods
