Trapeze Mobility Point® Family

The Trapeze Mobility Point® (MP®) family of multi-function access points provides access point, mesh access point, mesh portal, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless services for Trapeze Smart Mobile™ wireless networks.

Featuring support for 802.11a/b/g as well as 802.11n the Trapeze family of Mobility Points provide seamless mobility indoors and outdoors, and enable highly scalable deployment of wireless voice over IP and real-time location services.

Trapeze Mobility Point (MPs) access points are powered by Mobility System Software which, in addition to complete security and networking services, provides a range of advanced performance and scalability features that other vendors do not have. These include intelligent switching, which combines both centralized and distributed data forwarding based on the requirements of the underlying application, band steering, client load balancing, dynamic authorization, QoS and bandwidth management and much more. These features result is optimized traffic flows, radically reduced latency, and massive scalability for thousands of users and devices.

Configured and controlled by Trapeze Mobility Exchange controllers, MPs perform encryption and can also enforce security policy and forward data, depending on the application needs. In addition, thanks to the Smart Mobile architecture Trapeze Mobility Points are part of a NonStop Wireless solution in which all access points are treated as a pool, managed collectively by a cluster of controllers. This unique virtualization approach, enables hitless failover with zero downtime. No other vendor today matches the session-level availability offered by the Trapeze Smart Mobile WLAN solution.
